Redtail Capital was not born as a firm - it emerged as a philosophy.

More than twenty years ago, the name first appeared as a banner for independent consulting work. At the time, it reflected a simple but powerful idea: that businesses are not built through theory or financial engineering alone, but through practical execution, disciplined thinking, and a deep understanding of how value is actually created. 

In those early years, Redtail Capital served as the vehicle through which Jay Goth worked alongside companies across industries - energy, technology, finance, and manufacturing - often stepping directly into leadership roles to help guide growth, restructuring, and capital formation. This was not advisory from a distance. It was hands-on, embedded, and accountable.

Redtail History Evolution

As his career evolved into licensed investment banking, Redtail Capital became the trade name under which that work continued. With securities licenses and experience raising capital, structuring transactions, and preparing companies for investors, the Redtail name came to represent a consistent approach: clarity in strategy, discipline in execution, and alignment between vision and operations. 

Alongside this work, a parallel commitment was taking shape—one focused not on transactions, but on ecosystems. Through roles with organizations such as TriTech SBDCInSoCal CONNECT, and the Murrieta Innovation Center, Jay spent years mentoring founders, preparing them for capital, and helping build the connective tissue between entrepreneurs, investors, and institutions.
